My Journeys Into the Wild

Wildlife photography has taken me across some of the most spectacular landscapes on Earth. What started as a passion for travel slowly turned into a deep fascination for wildlife, untouched nature, and the challenge of capturing unique moments with a camera. Over the years, countless journeys through remote wilderness, rugged coastlines, deserts, forests, and oceans have shaped my photography and my connection to nature.

One of the most unforgettable destinations has been Canada. In British Columbia, I was able to photograph Orcas against the incredible backdrop of Mount Baker, a photo that was later even featured in the official tourism marketing for travel to British Columbia. On Vancouver Island, I spent many hours searching for Killer Whales and Humpback Whales along the wild Pacific coastline.

Further inland in Alberta, the stunning landscapes of Jasper National Park and the iconic Spirit Island offered some of the most breathtaking scenery I have ever experienced. Banff National Park impressed me with its turquoise lakes and dramatic mountain ranges, especially the incredible Peyto Lake.

Alaska brought some of the most adventurous experiences of my life. Far away from civilization, deep in the wilderness of Hallo Bay and Lake Clark National Park, I encountered coastal Brown Bears at unbelievably close distances. Watching and photographing these enormous predators in their natural habitat is something I will never forget.

Florida has become an almost yearly destination for me. The unique wildlife and especially the incredible Ospreys hunting fish along the coast have resulted in many of my favorite action shots. The combination of beautiful light, wetlands, and abundant wildlife makes Florida a paradise for wildlife photography.

The American West has also left a lasting impression on me. Yellowstone National Park offered fantastic wildlife encounters and dramatic landscapes, while Glacier National Park, the Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire, and Arizona amazed me with their endless variety of scenery. Around Sedona, I was able to photograph fascinating hummingbirds in the desert landscapes of the Southwest.

Namibia is another place that deeply inspired my photography. The country combines extraordinary wildlife with some of the most surreal landscapes on Earth. From the towering dunes of Sossusvlei and the ancient dead trees of Deadvlei to unforgettable wildlife encounters in Etosha National Park — including a hunting lion pride, leopards, rhinos, giraffes, and countless other animals — Namibia feels truly wild and untouched. One of the highlights was tracking rhinos on foot through the African bush, an experience that brought me closer to wildlife than ever before.

My travels have also taken me to Japan, China, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Ireland, the Caribbean, and many other destinations around the world. Especially Texel in the Netherlands and Southern France have become fantastic places for bird photography with their rich and diverse birdlife.

On the Azores, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph Sperm Whales both above and below the water surface. Seeing these giants of the ocean underwater, along with breaching whales and many other marine animals, was simply breathtaking.

Scotland remains one of my favorite destinations for seabird photography. On the islands of Isle of May and Lunga, I spent unforgettable days photographing the famous Atlantic Puffins with their colorful beaks and funny personalities.

Every journey added new experiences, new wildlife encounters, and new stories behind the images. Over time, these adventures turned travel into a true passion for wildlife photography.

I invite you to explore my galleries, discover the beauty of wildlife around the world, and join me on this journey through nature.
